What to Expect (Itinerary)
Itinerary
Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Sapa
Distance: ~ 18km
DAY 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (~12km)
8:30: Meet up with your local guide at the hotel or our office then start trekking.
Starting with the first place is Y Linh Ho village settled by the Muong Hoa stream and far from Sapa town about 4 km.
You will soon see another world as the atmosphere in Y Linh Ho village is very quiet, no bustling like tourist attractions inside Sapa town. Coming to the village, you will be immersed in the natural scenery of the beautiful unspoiled countryside with green cornfields, rice terraces with the Hoang Lien Son mountain range standing like a giant wall filled on the surface and Muong Hoa stream.
The simple stilt houses in the heart of the mountain, typical of mountainous ethnic people, you also see the shy beauty of the beautiful H’mong girls with unique brocade costumes and innocent highland babies.
Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in Sapa. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo blue clothing, besides, rudimentary houses, stone walls around the home will make visitors feel interesting, and with lifestyles, beliefs unique to the H’mong people.
12:00: Having lunch in a local restaurant of H’mong people in Lao Chai village with special local foods.
From Y Linh Ho, through the mountain roads to Lao Chai village located deep in the valley, surrounded by mountains and unique terraced fields, stretching to the door of the house, seemingly like silk ribbons. The breath-taking sights make you surprise, you can wander around.
Here, H’Mong people settle and have local foods to make visitors feel sincerity sent by local people to visitors after the trekking.
13:00: Continue the journey to Ta Van village (1.200m) to visit Giay (Giáy) people.
Besides the rice terraces nearby Muong Hoa stream, bamboo forest, the corn hills, Ta Van is also the busiest village with the lifestyles of many ethnic groups, here is the life of H’Mong, Red Dao and Giay people, sidewalks on the streets, and pretty homestays.
Giay is a fairly small minority group living mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. They have their own traditional dress and other culture life different from H’Mong, you can discover it when you have 1 night there.
15:00: Visit ecological homestay in Ta Van to stay overnight and enjoy dinner
Your chill time here, just take a rest after trekking, enjoy local dinner with Giay people, if interested, you can join to make dinner and have a happy time. Let’s take a good sleep in the eco room surrounded by rice fields and plants.
Experience the night time atmosphere in a truly out-of-town village with the sounds of nature and the airy space, the lights like starlight on the villages.
DAY 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Sapa (~6km)
9:00: After having a fresh breakfast at homestay, the tour guide picks you up to Giang Ta Chai village.
Giang Ta Chai village has a trapezoidal shape located halfway up the mountain at an altitude of 1,400m. The village is surrounded by over 50 hectares of primeval forest, 30 hectares of regenerated forest. The waterfall in the forest makes for a poetic landscape.
In the village, there are Red Dao households living. Like many other mountainous people, they also cultivate and raise livestock. In addition, the Red Dao people also develop traditional crafts, unique culture.
12:00: Have lunch in Su Pan village then discover Su Pan village with new wind of trekking tour
A lovely, peaceful, fairy-tale village, no smoke and traffic, only houses on stilts hidden in the mist, birds chirping with the sound of the wind,… Su Pan consists of 4 small villages of the Black H’mong and Red Dao people lying on the rocky slopes of Na Trong, overlooking the Muong Hoa valley. Su Pan used to be a quiet, hidden and timid land relying on mother nature with kind people.
14:30: Finish the tour, our car awaits to take you back to your hotel in Sapa.
Optional: At the end of the adventure, let’s have a happy ending, you can enjoy relaxing moments with indigenous herbal baths, foot baths and massages, and nice food by locals for good choices.

Additional information
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking
- Old people should not attend the long trek (9 kms) due to its challenge and danger in case of rain
- Handicapped people and children under 6 years old should not attend this tour
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- Most travelers can participate
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers
- If you travel sometime between May and October, you will have a chance to observe and experience how the locals do planting and harvesting on the beautiful rice terrace fields of Muong Hoa valley, one of the most important activities in daily life.
Children Policy
- Children from 6 to 11 years will charge as 50% that is (2nd children between 6 to 11 years will be charged full).
- Children above 12 years old will be treated as an adult and will be charged a full amount.
